Bradley D. Harrison - Candidate for Fox Chapel Borough Council.

Brad is a U.S. Navy Veteran and a former Congressional staff member looking to serve our community on a local level. Brad is a husband, a father of three, and a principal of a small contract manufacturing business in the Pittsburgh area.

Following his naval career as a submarine officer, Brad served as the Pittsburgh-based District Director for Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional District as well as a Washington, D.C.-based Capitol Hill defense staff member for Virginia’s 1st Congressional District. In these positions, Brad focused mainly on constituent services, relationships across federal, state, and local governments, and veterans and national security policy legislative issues. If elected, Brad’s prior experience within the Executive and Legislative branches of the federal government would help to serve the local community via effective, efficient, communicative, and inclusive municipal government.

Brad is currently a community service volunteer across multiple organizations. He is on the Board of Deacons as well as the Buildings and Grounds Committee at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church. As a Deacon, Brad's primary focus is on the Hunger Ministries and Food Pantry Distribution Program. He is also active in the Letters of Concern Program as well as checking in on those who may be shut-in due to illness, recovering from surgery, etc. Brad has also recently joined the Board of Directors of Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard serving as a member of the Development and Finance Committees.  The mission of Veterans Place is to empower veterans’ transition from homeless to home, ending the cycle of homelessness, and to assist all at-risk veterans to become engaged, valuable citizens who contribute to their communities.  From his community service experiences as well as from recent discussions with many residents, Brad would push to ensure Fox Chapel Borough provides excellent service to all citizens in as many ways as possible.

Brad is running for Fox Chapel Borough Council because he believes strongly in the importance of community service.

Serving our residents and conserving our natural assets, such as trails and wildlife, are essential to maintaining an effective municipal government like Fox Chapel Borough. Brad would also plan to continue to build bonds, maintain public safety and infrastructure, connect those in need to critical services, and preserve existing natural and developed assets with an eye on continuous improvement. If elected, Brad would listen to all viewpoints and perspectives, from all backgrounds and political parties, and would truly enjoy giving back to a community that has much to offer but can always improve.
